April McIver is a South Carolina native and life-long
Lexington County resident. She is
married and the mother of three children. April’s two oldest children attended
Lexington schools and her youngest daughter is currently a freshman at Lexington
High School. April and her husband, Jayson, are active members of Friends
Church in Irmo. As a hobby, April has
planned several weddings for her friends.
For twelve years, April has been employed as a Title
Abstractor and works daily in the Register of Deeds Office for Lexington
County. She is her company’s primary abstractor for Lexington County. April was introduced to abstracting by her
sister, who was a paralegal. April’s
brother-in-law, a well respected real estate attorney in Lexington, has also
been a valuable source of information in the field real estate law.
As a Title Abstractor, April researches titles, deeds,
changes of ownership, and many other issues involving land real estate. Her current position also involves training
new employees, administrative duties, billing, recruiting clients, client
retention, and expansion ideas. April will utilize these skills while serving
as Register of Deeds.
April’s reputation for accuracy and production, as well as
her knowledge of the inner workings of the Register of Deeds office make her a
qualified candidate for the Register of Deeds. April’s passion about the value
of historic records and commitment to making these records more accessible make
